The Mirrorstem Fikus, an extraordinarily rare species, makes its home in the astral realm. It presents itself as a radiant sphere of silver, adorned with flickering orbs of sapphire. Floating freely in the astral realm, its presence often induces a sense of unease in observers. Legend has it that these plants are the remnants of an ancient civilization’s attempt to escape a formidable threat, with their souls now ensnared within the sapphires.

Properties

The Mirrorstem Fikus holds a unique and potent property: it can ensnare the soul of any creature that touches it. The creature must succeed on a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw, or their soul will be imprisoned within the sapphire. While the soul is trapped, the creature’s body remains in a state of suspended animation. The soul can only be liberated through the casting of a wish spell or if it manages to navigate its way out of an infinite maze within the sphere.

Cultivation

Despite their artificial origins, these plants can be cultivated. This process involves cracking open their sapphire and extracting a seed. Once cracked, the seed rapidly matures into a full plant within 5 minutes, forming a maze with its stems and producing all its sapphires within an hour.

Applications

The sapphires of the Mirrorstem Fikus have unique applications. When crushed and inhaled, they grant the user the ability to astral project and provide true sight up to 30 ft. for 1 minute.
