Death’s Touch Amaryllis
Description
The Death’s Touch Amaryllis, a rare and exceedingly dangerous flora, boasts white petals that contrast starkly with its black stem. The plant can exclusively be found sprouting from the graves of potent necromancers or liches, drawing its deadly power from their lingering magical essence.
Properties
The Death’s Touch Amaryllis possesses the terrifying property of inducing instant death to those who touch it. Any creature that comes into contact with the plant experiences the same effect as if a Power Word Kill spell was cast on them. However, if the creature has more than 100 hit points, they must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC 20) or take 10d10 necrotic damage.
Cultivation
Cultivating a Death’s Touch Amaryllis is an endeavor for an adventurer as it necessitates the demise of a powerful necromancer or a lich and casting Decompose on their body. It does not require other nutrients or water. The plant grows slowly, feeding off the residual necromantic energy.
Applications
If the plant is subjected to the Bless spell daily for a month, its leaves can be safely harvested. These leaves, when carefully brewed in holy water, create a mushy paste. When applied to the lips of an undead creature, it compels them to recount any historical event as if they were present at the time.
The petals of the Death’s Touch Amaryllis can be ground and mixed with the bones and heart of a hero to concoct a potent black potion. Upon consumption, each attack made by the consumer inflicts an additional 3d6 radiant damage. However, this power comes at a great cost: the consumer’s organs slowly decay, transforming them into a living skeleton. The effect of the extra damage ends when the consumer completely becomes a skeleton after a week. The first year as a skeleton all its stats become 5, but it is immune to piercing damage and necrotic damage heals it.
