Xenofernal Cactus

Description

The Xenofernal Cactus, a hardy and towering flora, flourishes in arid, desert-like landscapes. Its deep green hue is punctuated by sharp, silver thorns that jut out from its surface. This cactus blooms into a vibrant red flower, emitting a faint, sulfuric aroma when celestial blood graces its surface. It is known to sprout in areas under celestial influence.

Properties

The Xenofernal Cactus carries a potent poison that is lethal to tieflings and fiends. When pricked by this cactus, a tiefling or fiend must succeed on a Constitution saving throw DC 14 or suffer 2d6 psychic damage. Fiends that succumb to this effect are unable to reform in their plane of origin, and tieflings cannot be resurrected by conventional means.

Cultivation

Propagation of the Xenofernal Cactus is achieved through the seeds nestled within its flowers. These seeds require intense sunlight and dry soil to germinate. Once sown, the cactus requires minimal maintenance but necessitates protection from cold temperatures and excessive watering. The flower and thorns can be harvested once matured.

Applications

While the Xenofernal Cactus poses a threat to tieflings and fiends, it offers benefits to other races. Its flowers can be brewed into a potent tea that grants resistance to fire damage for an hour. Additionally, its thorns can serve as ammunition for blowguns, dealing an additional 2d6 poison damage to tieflings and fiends if they fail a Constitution saving throw DC 14.
