Blinker

Description

The Blinker, a bioluminescent flora, thrives in various environments, often found growing in clusters. This plant is characterized by its long, slender stems and small, round bulbs that emit a soft, eerie luminescence. Standing at a modest height of 2 feet, the Blinker adds an uncanny ambiance to its surroundings.

Properties

The bulbs of the Blinker hold a unique enchantment: they glow in the darkness, mimicking the
eyes of a predator. To enhance this illusion, the bulbs blink intermittently. Although harmless, the sight of numerous glowing “eyes” can be quite unsettling, often deterring creatures from venturing too close.

Cultivation

Propagation of the Blinker is achieved through the seeds found within its bulbs. These seeds are hardy and can be sown in almost any environment. The plant thrives with minimal sunlight and scant water. However, once plucked from the stem, the bulbs lose their glow within approximately 10 minutes.

Applications

The Blinker offers more than just an eerie spectacle. The stem of this plant can be squeezed to extract its luminescent juices. When mixed with dye and applied to a creature’s eyes, it causes them to glow in the color of the chosen dye.
