Description

The Forest Vampire, a creeping vine, thrives in the darkest corners of ancient forests, jungles, or narrow dungeons. It is characterized by its dark green leaves that are almost black in color and small, golden flowers. The plant can grow up to 50 feet long, often winding around trees or rocks.

Properties

The Forest Vampire possesses a unique property of slowly draining the vitality of creatures near it. Any creature that comes within 5 feet of the plant starts to feel a gradual drain on their energy. For every hour spent within this range, the creature must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or gain one level of exhaustion. This effect can be halted by moving out of range of the plant.

Cultivation

Cultivation of the Forest Vampire requires a blooming flower that only happens when it drains someone’s life force. The plant prefers cool, damp environments and requires regular watering. The vine’s flowers can be harvested, but they wilt after 1 minute.

Applications

A rare medicine can be made from the Forest Vampire’s flowers. When crushed and mixed with pixie dust, the medicine can be applied to remove a simple curse from a creature. Additionally, when the petals are used to make tea, the tea makes the drinker feel sleepy.
