Description
The Tree of Limbo, an extraordinarily rare specimen, thrives in regions pulsating with intense magical activity. Its petals, in a constant state of flux, change colors and shapes, emitting a faint, otherworldly glow. Standing at an impressive 8 feet, this tree was once thought to be the Plane of Limbo’s attempt to breach the Material Plane. However, it has been discovered that these trees are the final form of the Wizardsdeath plant, which transforms into the Tree of Limbo upon absorbing an excess of magic, causing a shift and alteration in the surrounding magic.
Properties
Any spell cast within a 15-foot radius of this tree triggers a wild magic surge, akin to the
unpredictable magic wielded by a wild magic sorcerer. The DM rolls on the Wild Magic Surge table to generate a random magical effect at the point where the spell entered the radius.
Cultivation
Cultivating the Tree of Limbo involves feeding magic to a Wizardsdeath plant until it
transforms. Harvesting a branch from this tree is a risky endeavor as it triggers a surge of magical energy dealing 1d4 fire damage, 1d6 cold damage, 1d8 magical bludgeoning damage, 1d10 force damage and 1d12 Radiant damage instantly within a 20ft. radius without any saving throw.
Applications
The Tree of Limbo is as dangerous as it is fascinating. There are no known applications or recipes for any part of this tree due to its volatile nature. Attempting to harvest any part results in an instantaneous explosion of magic.
