Gravedigger Jack

Description

The Gravedigger Jack, a rare and eerie flora, flourishes in graveyards, crypts, and other locales where the undead are prevalent. It boasts ghostly white petals that appear to glow under the full moon and a stem as black as the night. When in bloom, it produces elongated black fruits. The flower emits a chilling aura and a scent reminiscent of cold earth and decay.

Properties

Any undead creatures within a 10-foot radius of the Gravedigger Jack gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws. This effect does not stack with multiple Gravediggers. If an undead creature remains within the vicinity of the Gravedigger Jack for an extended period, it starts sprouting flowers from itself and loses its vulnerability to radiant damage.

Cultivation

Gravediggers can be relocated but they only grow if a creature has been buried in the soil. It is recommended to procure the soil from a graveyard. Growing a Gravedigger Jack necessitates a blooming undead; when the blooming undead is destroyed, it begins to grow a new plant. The plant must be watered with water that has been used to wash a corpse at least once for it to grow properly. The plant grows slowly, reaching maturity within two months. The only usable part of the Gravedigger Jack is its fruits.

Applications

A paste concocted from the Gravedigger Jack’s fruit can be applied to the skin to mask the living aura of a creature. This makes it more challenging for undead creatures to detect the living, providing advantage on Stealth checks against undead for 1 hour. Consuming the fruit raw inflicts 1d6 necrotic damage on the consumer.
